My name is Korie, and I’m the mind behind Always Add Color. I’m a freelance artist who believes in always adding color into life. This blog is a compilation of my art, and my musings on how I’m adding color into my life through everyday experiences.

I started the concept of Always Add Color with art. You can find a link to my Etsy page on the right side of this site, as well as posts that document my various creative endeavors. I paint everything from artistic interpretations of pop culture favorites, to abstract animals. If you would ever like a custom order, please ask!

My personal favorite way to add color to my life is to travel. I have a severe case of Wanderlust and that’s fine by me. I grew up in Hong Kong and Germany, spent a semester abroad in London, and have lived in six different states in the U.S. While I was fortunate enough to do a lot of my globetrotting while still under the wing of my parents (thanks mom and dad!), as an adult I still find ways to travel the world as often as I can without spending a fortune.

I live in Chicago, and there are a million ways to add color to your life here. Whether I’m eating, checking out a free event, eating, getting my culture on, or eating, Chicago is an amazing city that is full of experiences. Did I mention that I love food?

I’m a bride on a budget, and I love DIY projects. My fiance and I are getting married in November, and I want to make sure that our personalities are infused into our wedding as much as possible (it is a celebration of us, right?). The other thing is that I refuse to believe that you can’t have a wedding of epic proportions for a reasonable amount of money. Bring it on.
